1. The Night Gwen Stacy Died
How could you NOT love this scene? (while being simultaneously heartbroken) Though it’s different from Gwen Stacy’s death in the comic books, this moment is just as powerful, despite the fact that it follows a far too brief battle with the Green Goblin. Once again, we’re left questioning whether it was the fall or Spider-Man’s webline which killed Peter Parker’s first love, and Andrew Garfield’s performance when he cradles her lifeless body was something very special indeed. He and real-life girlfriend Emma Stone have great chemistry throughout the sequel, and it’s that which makes this final moment between them all the more difficult to watch. It was a bold move to kill Gwen now, and while it’s a little disappointing that it wasn’t at the hands of Norman Osborn, it’s a moment is still extremely powerful and will make The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a talking point with comic book fans for years to come.
