2. The Special Effects
As revolutionary as the original Spider-Man trilogy was in terms of special effects, it was always slightly jarring to see the CGI Spidey transition to the physical one. This was less evident in The Amazing Spider-Man, but with Marc Webb going all out in the sequel by letting the character take to the skies and swing through New York, we’re left with arguably the best iteration of the character yet. When talking about superhero movies, people often throw around phrases like, “It brought the comic books to life!” but that’s 100% the case for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The battle scenes are just as good (as we’ve already established a little earlier in this feature), and whatever faults you may have had with the sequel, there’s no denying that it’s visually stunning!
