Sony Pictures just announced that Tom Hardy has signed on to play Eddie Brock/Venom in their upcoming 2018 Spider-Man spin-off movie, Venom. Production is scheduled to begin this fall, and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) will be the director. Venom is slated for a October 5, 2018 release.
