Venom: Let There Be Carnage has received yet another delay as the Delta variant of the Coronavirus sees cases once again climbing in the U.S.

Sony Pictures announced on Thursday that Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be moving from Sept. 24 to Oct. 15. The decision is directly related to the coronavirus situation in the United States at this time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the final straw was a drop in consumer confidence. Consumer confidence had been at 81%, but as of this week it dropped it 66%. Studios find anything below t70% to be a cause for concern.

Originally the film was scheduled for Oct. 2, 2020, but then moved to June 25, 2021. It then moved to Sept. 17, 2021, and then eventually to Sept. 24.

Will Oct. 15 be the last move? We’ll just have to wait and see in the coming weeks.
