Jamie Foxx reportedly in talks to return as Electro in Spider-Man 3

In what may be the most shocking (pun intended) Spider-Man news in some time, Jamie Foxx may be returning as Electro in Spider-Man 3.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in final talks to reprise his role as Electro in Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man film. If you’re a bit confused, don’t worry, you aren’t alone.

For those that may have forgotten, Foxx played Electro in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which starred Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. So far as we knew, the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies were a complete reboot, but then we got the J.K. Simmons cameo as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Seeing as he was from the Tober Maguire series, it’s beginning to sound as though a multiverse aspect is definitely coming into play.

And in case you had forgotten, we know that the next Doctor Strange movie is called Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Add in how popular Into the Spider-Verse was, and reusing old villains may not be the craziest of ideas.

Spider-Man 3 is currently dated for Nov. 5, 2021, but we fully expect that date to change as it has not yet started filming.
