Venom 3 is going to be arriving sooner than expected, and we finally have a title to go along with it.
First, the good news. The third Venom film has changed release dates moving up from November 8th of this year to October 25th. Your wait for your next symbiote adventure just got a little shorter.
The fact that the film is able to move up its release date is impressive as it did have to delay production due to the writer and actor strikes last year.
Now, for the bad news, the title of the film confirms what we had already been hearing about this being the last film in the series. The new title is Venom: The Last Dance, making it pretty clear this will be the end of the road for these films.
That had already been confirmed by multiple reports, but it still feels just a little bit more real now with the title announcement.
Nothing is known about the plot of the film yet. Seeing as we already dealt with Carnage, where the story could go is pretty wide open.
The only real dangling plotline at the moment is that piece of the symbiote that got left behind when Eddie accidentally jumped universes. But that seems unlikely to come into play in this film.
Tom Hardy is once again returning to the role of Eddie Brock, and he also co-developed the story with the screenwriter, Kelly Marcel. She will also be directing the new film.
Other than Hardy, only new cast members have been announced so far including Juno Temple in an undisclosed lead role. There are two female symbiotes that immediately come to mind: Scream and Agony. I’d be willing to bet she will be playing one of those as they need someone with powers to take on Venom.
The first two films have earned just over $1.3 billion dollars globally, so despite this being the end of this particular set of films, something tells me this won’t be the last we see of Venom.
Venom: The Last Dance will hit theaters on Oct. 25.
