We heard that Michael Keaton was in talks for the villain role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but then heard that he decided to walk away. Now Variety is reporting that talks between Keaton, Marvel, and Sony are back on!
The reason for the disconnect had to do with Robert Downey Jr. joining the cast. He doesn’t come cheap, and Marvel/Sony weren’t able to give Keaton the money he was looking for because of it.
With Downey’s deal now closed, insiders say Sony and Marvel and have now returned to Keaton and look to have found a way to make both parties happy, Variety reports.
If he decides to join, Keaton is rumored to be up for the role of Vulture. Stay tuned to Spider-Man News for more on this development.
