Spike Lee Drops Out of Directing Sony’s Nightwatch Movie

With the success of Venom at the box office, it feels as though Sony’s mini-Marvel Universe is off to a roaring start. Jared Leto is in line to take on Morbius, the Living Vampire, while the Black & Silver movie is being reworked to better accommodate the characters in possible solo films.

Even Kraven, the Hunter is possibly up for his own film.

All that being said, one of the earliest announcements in this project of Sony’s was Spike Lee coming onboard to direct Nightwatch. This was rumored a couple years ago, and then it looked like it was happening. But, now it seems the dream is over.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Lee was asked whether or not he was still directing Nightwatch. His reply was, “Nah.”

Well, did anymore really need to be said? Apparently not.

This doesn’t mean that the Nightwatch film is necessarily dead, it just means it is without a director at this time.
