Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to be one of the most interesting and highly publicized comic book films in recent memory, and for good reason. The film not only marks the big entrance of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also the unprecedented collaboration between two rival studios, Marvel and Sony. All eyes have been on this movie.
Thus far, we know that Spidey will be facing The Vulture, while also having to contend with The Shocker, The Tinkerer, and the pressures of his social life at Midtown High. The movie is definitely seeming to be jam-packed, as it is going to have to introduce us to the new world this version of Spidey will be playing around in. But it seems like there could be a new player joining the Spidey franchise.
According to Bleeding Cool, Sony employees are deeply interested in the character of Nightwatch. Nightwatch was a minor character, who came out of one Spider-Man titles, and later appeared in the She-Hulk comics. He eventually got his own series. As Bleeding Cool notes, the kind of behavior exhibited by Sony may indicate that they may be looking into putting him into a film. Since Nightwatch originally came from the Spidey comics line, logically, Sony might be thinking of throwing him into one of the films in that franchise down the line. It is far too late to introduce him in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as filming is close to completion.
Of course, they are just rumors for the time being. If anything gets officially confirmed, we will be sure to let you know! Personally, this does not seem to be a strong possibility. Nightwatch seems to be a random choice, and too minor of a character to attract any sort of interest, unless the character is changed almost entirely. It is not impossible, but highly unlikely.

What do you guys think? Is Nightwatch going to appear in the new Spider-Man franchise? How would you feel about them adding him into the mix of an already jam-packed blockbuster? Let us know!
