Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off Silver and Black, which focuses on Silver Sable and the Black Cat, has landed a director, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gina Prince-Bythewood, who wrote and directed The Secret Life of Bees, will direct Silver and Black. Chris Yost, who worked on the upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok, is writing the most recent draft. Lisa Joy, the co-creator of HBO’s Westworld, also worked on the script.
Sony seems to be building its own Spider-Man universe separate from what they’re doing with Marvel on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Last week they announced that Tom Hardy will star in their Venom movie.
