Sony isn't bringing 'The Amazing Spider-Man' franchise to this year's Comic-Con

Warner Bros.’s official press release didn’t reveal whether or not they’re bringing Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and with Disney confirming that Star Wars Episode VII won’t be at the annual event because they’re busy filming, it’s shaping up to be a little underwhelming!

Adding to the disappointment is the fact that Sony is skipping a Hall H presentation this year. Instead, it was announced earlier today that they will be presenting panels on Goosebumps and Pixels in the Hilton Indigo Ballroom.

That means we more than likely won’t be hearing anything about either The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or Drew Goddard’s Sinister Six, though as both of those are scheduled for 2016 and beyond, perhaps this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise! Something at next year’s Comic-Con is a guarantee in comparison.

Even so, this is still a little disappointing because even a panel to promote the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of the Marc Webb helmed sequel would have meant that there was a chance of some sort of surprise announcement.

Of course, there’s still a chance news could break over the weekend in regards to the franchise, so be sure to check back here for any updates!
