Alfred Molina returning as Doctor Octopus for Spider-Man 3

It looks as though Spider-Man is going to have his hands full when it comes to villains in the next film. Alfred Molina is returning as Doctor Octopus.

The third outing for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man looks as though it’s going to be a live-action version of Into the Spider-Verse for sure. We already learned Jamie Foxx would be returning as Electro which he played against Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. And now it seems Doc Ock and his many arms will be joining in the fight.

According to sources speaking with The Hollywood Reporter Molina has indeed signed on to return as Doc Ock. Molina originally played Otto Octavius in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 when Tobey Maguire was playing the Wall-Crawler.

GWW was the first with the news to report Molina had been spotted on the set.

With villains from two different Spider-Man series now on board, those rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to appear seem a bit more likely.

The untitled third Spider-Man film is set to hit theaters on Dec. 17, 2021.
