Spider-Man: Far From Home sets another box office record

Spider-Man in Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN: ™ FAR FROM HOME

Spider-Man: Far From Home has had a great run at the box office, and over this weekend it set another one.

Until this weekend, the James Bond film Skyfall was the highest-grossing film from Sony Pictures with $1.108B. Spider-Man swung past it this weekend and is sitting at $1.109B. It may only be one million dollars, but it is still a significant benchmark for the studio and the character.

With the film having set this record, it’s even a bit more amazing that we haven’t heard about another film in the series yet. While Far From Home completed the agreement between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, it seems like a silly time to end the agreement with everything working so well.

Disney will be holding its D23 fan convention later this week, and Marvel will be making a presentation. Hopefully we’ll learn something during the presentation.

For now, congratulations to all of those involved with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
