Sam Raimi approved of that Spider-Man: Far From Home cameo

Spider-Man in Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN: ™ FAR FROM HOME

If you have not yet seen Spider-Man: Far From Home, then you need to turn back as we will be discussing a spoiler throughout this post.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with Sam Raimi about Crawl recently, and they couldn’t help but ask about a certain cameo that happens in the latest Spider-Man movie.

“J.K. (Simmons) called me and said: ‘Hey, they’re talking me about reprising my role. What do you think?’ and I said: ‘With all my greatest blessings,’ because I love Spider-Man, I love J.K. and I want to see more of them.”

Yes, Sam Raimi was aware that J.K. Simmons would be reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home. It’s not that anyone needed Raimi’s permission, but we can certainly understand why Simmons would want his blessing. You don’t get cast by a director and then work on three films together without feeling like the director has some ownertship over it as well.

And we’re with Raimi. Everyone wanted Simmons back in this role. There may be no finer casting in a comic book movie ever than Simmons as J. Jonah. Now we just have to hope this is the start of some more apperances.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is in theaters now.
