Venom sequel is happening, but no one seems to know when

Despite taking a beating from critics, Venom went on to earn $856M globally off of a $100M budget. By anyone’s metrics, that’s an amazing performance, and one that is sure to get a sequel made. The only question is when that is happening.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, producer of all things Spider-Man Amy Pascal revealed the film is in the works, but there is just no timeline as to when it may happen.

Comic Book: What about a Venom sequel? Just an outright sequel to that movie?

Amy Pascal: Yes, that is in the works.

Comic Book: That’s on the way? Okay, cool. Any time table?

Amy Pascal: No time table.

Considering how well the first film did, and the heat around all things Spider-Man right now, you would think Sony may want to move a bit faster on this film. Admittedly, the first film isn’t even a year old yet, but you still probably want to get some momentum going on it so you don’t release it too far removed from the first one.

With Spider-Man: Far From Home currently in theaters, the future of anything Spider-Man related on the big screen is a bit of a question mark. As it stands right now, nothing has been as coming to the theaters in the next few years. Hopefully with San Diego Comic-Con less than a week away, perhaps something will be announced during the show, we’ll just have to wait and see.
