Spider-Man: Far From Home opened this weekend in China, Japan, and Hong Kong and took in a healthy box office of $111M.
The majority of the revenue came from China where it opened to $98M, the fourth-best start for a comic book film. The top spots in the past went to Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Venom. The film took in $9.4M in Japan, and $3.8M in Hong Kong.
The film will be opening in far more markets this weekend, and it opens in the United States on Tuesday. With this film wrapping up the Infinity Saga, and scoring well on Rotten Tomatoes, it should do well across the world this week.
For comparison, Spider-Man: Homecoming did $117.02M its opening weekend in 2017. With Far From Home opening on a Tuesday, the measurement will be different, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this one performs even better.
Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2.
