Phil Lord and Chris Miller sign multi-year deal with Sony

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a new home at Sony Pictures TV, and it sounds like they have a lot planned.

Having just hit it out of the park with winning an Oscar for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Lord and Miller have departed their development home at 20th Century Fox TV. It seems safe to say Sony Pictures TV really wanted the duo locked down and gave them a five-year deal with reportedly in the nine-figure range.

The new arrangement will see Lord and Miller creating and developing original comedy and drama projects for traditional broadcast, cable networks, and streaming services. The big project, however, will be working on a mini-universe for the Marvel characters Sony holds the rights for. This includes all of the Spider-Man related characters from villains to family. More than likely this will include the rumored spin-offs from Into the Spider-Verse.

It seems that there will be a lot more Spider-Man in our future, we just need to wait and see what forms it takes.
