To absolutely no one’s surprise, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be facing off with Incredibles 2, Isle of Dogs, Mirai, and Ralph Breaks the Internet for the coveted award. Seeing how it’s doing in the other races for awards so far this season, it’s never wise to count your trophies before they’re handed out, but this seems like it’s going to happen.
It was a good Academy Awards for Marvel overall with Black Panther scoring seven nominations including one for Best Picture. Who says the world is suffering from superhero fatigue?
The Academy Awards will be held on Feb. 24, 2019 at 8:00pm Eastern/5:00pm Pacific.
