Spider-Man Attraction Coming to Disney’s California Adventure

Disney California Adventure - Avengers Plans Posters

Disney has big plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at Disney’s California Adventure, and our favorite web-slinger is included.

According to WDW News Today, the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT! was just the first step of the plans. Work is already beginning to convert the former A Bugs Life are into a Marvel-focused area. Everything will expand out from an Avengers “A” in the center. From there you’ll have access to an indoor Avengers-themed rollercoaster.

The big news, of course, is that Spider-Man will be taking over the “It’s Tough to be a Bug” theater and will receive an interactive screen attraction. There’s no word yet on the exact specifics of the attraction, but it will be all about him.

Meanwhile, Ant-Man will have a microbrewery, because, of course, he would. And Doctor Strange will be teaching park goers the mystic arts in his own stage show.

Currently, the plans are for the changes to take place over two phases with phase one commencing in 2020 and phase two a year or two later. The only clear part of the plan is the Avengers ride will be in phase two. As Spider-Man is taking over an existing building, it will more than likely be in phase one, but we’ll keep an eye on it.

Someone let us know when Disney just throws in the towel and makes an all-Marvel theme park. It has to happen at some point.
