Tom Holland confirms 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' trilogy, swiftly apologizes to Marvel

Spider-Man: Homecoming is just a few weeks away now and star Tom Holland is promoting the movie overseas. While speaking with the French website AlloCiné, Holland confirmed that Spider-Man: Homecoming is the first of a trilogy.

While answering a question about how the story will continue in future movies, Holland said: “It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies. Yeah, there’ll be Spider-Man 2 and 3”.

When the AlloCiné pointed out that Holland just broke some big news (only Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 has been announced so far), Holland quickly apologized to Marvel. “Well, now you know. Sorry Marvel. Whoops!,” he said.

Both Sony and Marvel have said that their deal only extends to Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, so while Sony could make a third movie without Marvel, I think it’s safe to assume that the partnership will be extended, if it hasn’t been already.
