Deadline is now reporting that Sony has chosen a release date for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, already prepping the film to go. The sequel will be released on July 5th, 2019. That’s almost exactly 2 years removed from the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Obviously details on the movie are scarce, but thanks to the enormous success of the trailer that was just released, this announcement is definitely a great sign of confidence from Sony. It’s also quite interesting that Sony/Marvel have decided to lay claim to the July 4th holiday weekend again, making this pretty much the normal release now for the Spidey films. We can’t wait to see what the future of Spidey is post Spider-Man: Homecoming.
