Toronto Sun caught up with Stan Lee to get his thoughts on Zendaya playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming. If anyone’s opinion on that news matters, it’s Lee’s, seeing as he created the character 50 years ago! Here’s what he had to say:
“If she is as good an actress as I hear she is, I think it’ll be absolutely wonderful,” Lee said.
Lee added: “The color of their skin doesn’t matter, their religion doesn’t matter. All that matters is that this the right person for the role.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
