Michael Chernus joins the cast of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ as The Tinkerer

Another major villain has now joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. According to Deadline, Michael Chernus has been cast as Phineas Mason, The Tinkerer! Chernus can be seen in various films such as Captain Phillips and Aloha, in addition to the hit show Orange is the New Black. Michael recently just finished up his work on The Most Hated Woman in America, a Netflix drama.

The Tinkerer has been rumored to be a major villain in the film for a while now, so this is a pretty big confirmation. Chernus will star opposite Michael Keaton’s Vulture. According to various rumors, Tinkerer will aid The Vulture in creating his wings and suit. While that may or may not be true, his presence does lead to some credibility to that rumor. It won’t be too long before we find out, as Spider-Man: Homecoming will be swinging into theaters on July 7th.

What do you guys think about Chernus being The Tinkerer? Do you think that with the Vulture, Tinkerer, and possibly Shocker being in the film, Homecoming could be overstuffed? Sound off and let us know!
