UFC fighter Tyron Woodley just won the welterweight championship this past weekend at UFC 201 in Atlanta, Georgia and he’s already making big moves!
Woodley was on The MMA Hour this afternoon and all but confirmed to host Ariel Helwani that he has a role Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“I don’t know if I can even say this, but I’m working on a Marvel movie on Thursday in Atlanta”, Woodley revealed.
Woodley has done stunts for movies like Olympus Has Fallen and Straight Outta Compton, and has a role in the upcoming Fast & Furious movie. Since Spider-Man: Homecoming is the only Marvel movie that’s shooting in Atlanta right now, it sounds like he’ll have to add that to his résumé.
Fun fact: Spider-Man himself Tom Holland was in attendance at UFC 201 to watch Woodley win the title.
Tyron Woodley isn’t the first UFC champ to land a Marvel role. Former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre had a small role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
