Spider-Man: Homecoming, set to be released in July 2017, is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated comic book movies in recent memory. The film marks the grand entrance of Spidey into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who we last saw debut in Captain America: Civil War, but it is also headlining the unprecedented collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Fans everywhere are looking forward to see Peter Parker back in high school and continue to interact with our favorite heroes. We already know that Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., has joined the cast, but it seems that another fan-favorite may have a cameo in the film.
‘Atlanta Filming’, a Twitter account that has been covering the entire filming of Homecoming, sent a tweet out that seems to suggest that Scarlett Johansson, the Black Widow herself, may be in the area.

This also comes as ComicBook.com has revealed that they were told that Johansson was in the area, but were unable to confirm those reports. Atlanta Filming has provided us with tons of photos and information from the set, so it would make sense that they would know that Scarlett was in the area. With both ComicBook’s reports and Atlanta Filming’s mysterious tweet, it does look like we may see another big Marvel hero join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Despite all of this, this may not mean that she will appear in the movie. Marvel stars are known to come down and visit the sets of other projects, and Scarlett could be working on something completely different while in Atlanta. If Scarlett is indeed filming scenes for Homecoming, it would most likely just be a cameo, since filming has been going on for quite some time. Though, it would be quite awesome if we got to see Natasha Romanoff and Peter Parker have more than just a quick scene together.
If we get any more news on this, we will be sure to update you as soon as possible! How do you guys feel about Scarlett Johansson joining Spider-Man: Homecoming? Let us know in the comments below!
