Whose side will Spider-Man be on in 'Captain America: Civil War'?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is nowhere near as big as the Marvel Comics Universe, so it’s obvious that the amount of heroes who battle it out in Captain America: Civil War will be significantly less than in Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s 2006 event series.

Now, a new report claims to reveal which heroes will be siding with who – Captain America or Iron Man – in the highly anticipated 2016 movie.

Standing with Captain America are Hawkeye, The Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, and The Winter Soldier. Iron Man meanwhile will recruit The Vision, Spider-Man, Black Widow, and War Machine on his side. That’s right, Peter Parker will be teaming up with Tony Stark!

This probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, especially as Spider-Man sided with Iron Man in the Civil War comic book. Of course, there’s a very good chance that he’ll end up defecting and joining up with Steve Rogers at some point, though rumours about him being given the Iron Spider costume at the end of the movie and Iron Man showing up in 2017’s Spider-Man movie might point to that not happening. We’ll just have to wait and see!

For now, it’s definitely best to take this rumour with a big old pinch of salt, but these are pretty interesting team line-ups if accurate, don’t you think?
