I just launched a new website, and it’s called Superhero News! Best of all, it’s integrated right into Spider-Man News. You’ll be able to see the latest stories in the middle of the Spider-Man News homepage, or at the bottom of every article. Read on for the full scoop!
Last June I acquired the domain name SuperheroNews.com, and I’ve been hard at work on it ever since. Superhero News is a new kind of superhero website. I was inspired by sites like Digg and The Tech Block. My goal is to deliver the best quality superhero and comic book news from around the web. I’m starting with movie news for now, but I want to expand and cover everything and anything hero related. TV news will come as soon as possible.
Superhero News is fully responsive, which means it will look great on every device you use. From your laptop, to your tablet, to your smartphone. There’s even a special view for people who like to browse full screen on big desktop monitors. With Superhero News you get the best superhero content, wherever you are!
And of course, Superhero News is social! Please follow the site on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ to get the latest superhero news on your favorite social network. There’s also an email newsletter that you can sign up for to get the latest stories in your inbox. It’s on the sidebar if you’re on a desktop/laptop, or at the bottom of this post if you’re on a phone or tablet.
How It Works
The entire website is made up of “cards” (pictured above). Each card contains an image, a source, a headline, and a “Summary” button. Clicking on a headline will take you straight to the source of news. Click on the “Summary” button to get a quick recap, with the option to click over to the full story. And of course there are social media buttons so that you can share the latest news with all of your friends.
There’s also a dedicated video page. All videos will live on Superhero News and this will be the best place to watch all the latest movie trailers, clips, and video interviews.
Use the “Menu” button in the top of of your screen to browse all of the different sections, and to see news about the hero you care about most.
Forums
Superhero News has forums! They are powered by Muut, modern forum software. Like Superhero News, the forums are fully responsive and will look great on all of your devices. Head on over to the forums page to sign up for a free Muut account. You can also sign in with your Facebook or Google account (Twitter support is coming soon!).
The Superhero News Show
I’m beyond excited to team up with Adam Hlavac and his friends Hector Navarro and Agustin Rios. Adam is a talented visual effects artist who has worked on some of the biggest comic book movies of all time. In fact, all three have! Agustin works with Adam in the VFX industry, and Hector works at Imperium 7, a voice acting agency that reps Batman himself, Kevin Conroy.
Adam, Hector, and Agustin will host “The Superhero News Show”, a weekly video podcast on YouTube where they’ll break down the biggest stories of the week, give personal insight and opinions, as well as preview and review the latest superhero movies. Please subscribe on YouTube so you never miss an episode.
Blazer Six
I was thrilled to be able to work with Brady and Brody Vercher of Blazer Six again, the same team that designed and built the gorgeous Spider-Man News. I couldn’t be happier with what they came up with for Superhero News. They are the absolute best in the business when it comes to WordPress development and design.
Wrap Up
So there you have it. Please go check out Superhero News! I’ve been working on this website for the past 7 months and I can’t tell you how happy I am to have it finally be out in the wild. I hope you like it and will come back often for all of the latest superhero and comic book movie news. Don’t forget to follow Superhero News on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. So what do you think?
