It’s no secret that Sony is a little confused as to which direction to take Spider-Man next. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 made over $700 million at the box office, but was met with mixed reviews by critics and fans. Since then, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been delayed until 2018 and rumors of Sony’s next move have been popping up online almost every week. The latest rumor was so ridiculous, however, that I didn’t even want to waste your time and post it here on Spider-Man News.
Latino Review reported that Sony is considering a movie about a young Aunt May, without Spider-Man, in an espionage story in the vein of AMC’s Mad Men. Sounds crazy, right? Thankfully, a Sony representative told CBR that the Aunt May spinoff news is just a “silly rumor” with “no validity whatsoever”.
