A video game for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was announced at New York Comic-Con today. It’ll be developed by Beenox, the same studio behind The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and Spider-Man: The Edge of Time. Polygon has more information about what we can expect in the sequel:
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will feature new upgrades, abilities and challenges, as well as a new “Hero or Menace” system. Good deeds are rewarded with additional feature unlocks, while letting bad guys go on unhindered will have negative consequences. Players will also spend some time as Peter Parker and not just his alter ego as he investigates villains within the city.
The game is due out in “Spring 2014” just in time for the new movie. It’ll be available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC. Check out the short teaser trailer above and teaser image in the gallery below. I’ve also included some new photos from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie from Beenox’s game website.
