Talking on RTE Television‘s The Late Late Show tonight, Martin Sheen confirmed that he will reprise the role of Uncle Ben in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man sequel. The character did of course die at the hands of a robber in the first movie, so it seems safe to assume that he will appear either in flashbacks or in some sort of dream sequence (similar to Cliff Robertson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2). “They’ve called me back,” he revealed. “I don’t know what the part is gonna be, but I’m going to be ‘Uncle Ben’ once again in Spider-Man next year.
