UFC champ Tyron Woodley had to drop out of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ villain role

In August, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley announced that he would be working on a “Marvel movie in Atlanta”, which everyone knew was Spider-Man: Homecoming. The champ was on a recent episode of Fox Sports Live and revealed that he got in some hot water with Marvel, and had to end up dropping out of the role.

When he’s not fighting in the cage, Woodley is a UFC analyst for Fox Sports, and he said a prior obligation to them forced him to have to drop out of the Spider-Man: Homecoming role.

“Unfortunately I was going to play a villain in the movie, and I think I was going to be fighting Spider-Man,” Woodley revealed. Start speculating now… but perhaps Woodley was up for the part of The Shocker?

Woodley ended the Spider-Man portion of the interview by saying “Maybe I get a bigger Marvel character down the road, and I’m like Green Lantern or something”. Ha. Good luck with that!
